Howdy

I swear I cleaned the house. I did. I baked, cleaned the kitchen, did laundry, changed kitty litter, vacuumed, swept... I promise, I did! The bathroom was clean, the beds were made, the laundry was finally folded. I even made dinner!

The kids did their dishes. They showered. They gathered up their stuff, didn't they?

But when the kids left for school this morning and I looked around, I swear it seemed as if we WANT to live in squalor and stink.

Sigh.

The baby is 7 months old today. Seven! When did that happen!? It's like he's growing or something. Weird.

This weekend is General Conference. Huzzah! Saturday was the General Relief Society Broadcast, and I adored it and loved it and should have blogged about it, but obviously, I did not. I greatly enjoyed it because first, I always enjoy the RS broadcast (always), and second, it was fantastic to hear from our newly called RS Presidency. I felt the Spirit so strongly in the meeting, and several times I was overcome. This was especially meaningful to me because I have been so exhausted these last few months (Wait. Seven months to be exact!), and to have the Spirit gently whispering to my heart about things that mean so much to me was such a tender mercy.

I'm all set to go out and gather the things I need for the kids for GC, too. A year ago, I went all out and it was a little overwhelming. Six months ago, I went to bare minimum, and the kids were too bored. This time, I'm going to do some happy medium planning:

*Cinnamon rolls for breakfast both days
*Simple packets to take notes or to color/draw
*15 ziplock bags of goodies (one for each Apostle and Prophet)! But this time, instead of overloading them with sugar or distracting activities, there will be mostly coloring pages
*Their own buckets with crayons, pencils, pens
*Pizza on Saturday, soup/rolls on Sunday

What do you do for General Conference?

We have waffles with chocolate chips, berries, whipped cream, and/or maple syrup. I make nachos for when the Prophet speaks.

We had fun this time with Conference Bingo sheets.
