Please Help Jacquee!

Holy cow, dear reader. HOLY. COW.

I just got a message from a high school friend whom I haven't seen since...well, probably high school! I could tell it was desperate, and when I investigated further, I realized why.

You have all heard of those terrible divorces, right? Where one spouse believes it's their job to make the now ex-spouse's life a living hell? You've heard of abuse, right? Abuse that precedes divorce? You've heard how the offending spouse, who doesn't actually care about their children, use those self-same children as bargaining chips? Or refuse to give them up? Right?

I have. Unfortunately, I've heard about it all too often. It's awful. It's ugly. And it's expensive.

Well, here's the dealio. My friend Jacquee is going through this ordeal right now. It's straight out of your worst nightmare. Please go to this link to read her story. If you want to hear it in her own words, then go here. Then, if you can, donate some money (even a dollar!) to help her. There is also a Pledgie page if you'd like to go there.

The legal battle ahead of her is staggering. I can't even imagine, dear reader. I can't. But the part that makes me the angriest and fills me with rage? That she isn't the only one this has happened to. That it continues to plague many women (and men! I know it's not just us women getting the raw end of the deal) and will continue as long as selfishness, pride, and addiction continues. I can't think about it too long because it makes my blood boil!

Why are people so hateful? So selfish? So mean?

I hope you get your girls back, Jacquee. I'm gonna pray for it with all my heart!

Heading over to read her story.

Why it happens? You nailed it in one word: ADDICTION. And it can come in a multitude of forms, many invisible and many socially acceptable and not really seen as addictions. Still wrong, still abusive. Still makes me angry.

Oh my gosh! I am so heart broken! HEART BROKEN! I do not even know her and I want to punch the guy in the face! I will pray for her! It's all about selfishness!
Ok, I have LOTS to say on the subject, and I think I may call you some time, but maybe after China so I can hear all about it!
