So, on August 9th, my 3rd child and first son had a birthday! He turned six years old. Which means he's starting first grade on Tuesday. How did this happen? When did he grow up?!
Anyway, we threw him a fun birthday party with his cousins and his buddies. It was water-themed and included water baseball, a water war, a pinata, presents, cake, and pizza. As far as birthday parties go, it was a rip-roaring success (thanks to my sister, SIL, and parents for helping!). There is nothing like old-school birthday parties, in my opinion...
Now for Yellowstone!
We arrived at our campsite on Thursday night, and met our neighbors:
It was a very nice evening, so after enjoying our campfire and dinner, we headed to the lake:
The next morning, we saw these guys:

We also saw some under-the-earth-activity (and smelled it, as well):
And even though it threatened (and finally did) rain, we spent some good times at the Canyon:
Our day was cut short because of rain, but the next day, we went to Old Faithful! We were pretty far back, so I didn't get the best pictures; the steam kept covering the water. Oh, well.
After a picnic lunch, we went on a very short nature walk...
...and then headed back to the lake:
On the day we left, we drove south to the Grand Tetons. We are so glad we did! Because just outside of Yellowstone, we saw this:
