Viva Las Vegas or Awesome Girl's Weekend!

As you know, I just spent 3 1/2 fabulous days with 7 equally fabulous blogging friends. We had a blast! The best part was not having to spend too much time with small talk on each other's personalities and lives --we already know each other so well through our blogging. I won't lie to you, dear reader, this was seriously the best birthday I have ever had! I had the time of my life, and I'm pretty sure the other lovely ladies feel the same way.

Here are the women that came (in no particular order): Bythelbs, madhousewife, Susan M, Janelle, Flip Flop Mama, Mother of the Wild Boys, and Alison Wonderland.

I could wax poetic (or travelogue-ish) and tell you everything we did and everywhere we went and everything we said --but I won't. Why not? Because it would take too long, because it would bore you, and because my blogging buddies would probably like to maintain some form of anonymity (not that we ever talked about anything remotely embarrassing or anything. Ahem!). Oh! And this is why I'm not labeling people in the pictures. It's not that you can't figure out who they are (method of deduction and all that --or you read their blogs yourself), I just don't feel comfortable matching faces with names. If they do it on their blog --no problem, man! But that will be their choice.
Does this make sense?
Good.

And now, with that out of the way, here are some highlights:
*Meeting the women (I hadn't met, yet) for the first time
*Realizing that everybody would pitch in to clean, cook, shop, help, etc. without being asked because we are all experienced mothers. Plus showers were short. Living our lives in, around, and about all our kids has added some perks to the personality, people!
*Laughing until midnight every night
*Going to the top of the Stratosphere
*Agreeing with each other that the Strip in Vegas is too busy, too colorful, and way too nasty (sex-wise), and yet still enjoying some time there
*Going to the Temple and attending a session
*Wondering how I ever got along without these amazing women in my life
*Spending the day in the amazing Valley of Fire (awesome stuff, Susan!!)
*Enjoying long dinners at restaurants because there were no whiny children
*Wishing we had more time to hang out
*Agreeing that we all need to do it again someday soon!

Here are some pictures of what we did (and I apologize to the girls for the dinner pictures --I know you are all gonna love those. Ha! Don't hate me...Oh --and if you notice in the dinner photos, we had an extra guest. We loved meeting you, E!):

It was awesome, ladies. I can't wait to see you again!

I object!

I object to the eating pictures.

I object to you not using my psuedonym. Why am I Janelle and everyone else gets a cool name? All it took was a W to make this fair.

I object to the pictures of me in an orange blouse with a red rock background.

And if I look preggo in any of these pictures I would like to remind your readers that its just my Food Baby, not a real baby.

I had a great time Cheryl. How about next weekend in SF?

It looks like such fun! I'm so totally jealous. And Valley of Fire? Ahh! One of my FAVORITE places. Next time, I'm there. I hope!!

I was really okay all weekend, but these pictures are KILLING me!!! You all look so cute and hip and like you are having the time of your life!

The dinner pictures are so seriously awesome. Thanks for putting them up. I am loving every single one!

You totally owe the rest of us something awesome. You DO know that right? :) I'm glad you had such a great time! Vegas gives me the heebie-jeebies...that's... a long story.

Janelle-
Uhhh...objections denied? :) And you know, if I could make it work, I'd be there in a heartbeat!

Amanda-
Don't worry --there WILL be a next time (although the place might be different, and it might be years from now), and hopefully you can come then! I'm sad you couldn't make it.

Julie-
Oh, man, you would have lovd it! But I'm just happy you think I'm cute and hip. :)

Michelle-
Yeah, it was funny --we all kind of agreed that Vegas wasn't the BEST place to meet, but we still managed to have a great time. And as for owing you something here...well, that's not something I'm opposed to! I'll think of something. :)

Oh. My. Gosh. Bloggity hook-ups are the best, aren't they? BlogHer just doesn't do it for me because I don't know most of the women. But having something with bloggers you know and love? FUN!

Food baby! Haha! I totally forgot to include that on my blog post about the trip. Janelle you are so funny.

Thanks for inviting me Cheryl, it was a blast.

Now don't be knocking Vegas...some of us actually live here! :) And darn it there are great people here! Really though the strip is nasty...thus I never go there. But Valley of Fire is one of our favorite places. Glad you had a good time!

I'm not 'knocking' Vegas--I lived there for 6 years. It's a great place. What I meant about the "heebie-jeebies" is more along the lines of...what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. :)

I don't know what janelle's complaining about, she's looks totally hot in those pictures. But then she looks totally hot all the time.

Cheryl, I really can't thank you enough for the whole thing. I mean that.

Well, I'm glad it was in Vegas, 'cause otherwise I would have missed the whole thing. It was great to meet you all. Thanks for letting me tag along on Saturday.

Flip-
Agreed. And you are welcome. :)

earlfam-
My pleasure! We LOVED meeting you and having you with us for a while!

Madhousewife-
Oh, KENNY! How could I forget him?! Well, Susan and Bythelbs mention him, so it's all good. :)

Bythelbs-
Yes. Yes, you did.

Alison-
Agreed! Janelle is hot stuff, man. And you are very welcome --I'm really glad you made it! Thanks for the long car-ride conversations. :)

Cardalls/Michelle-
Oh, I know! Vegas has some fabulous people --it's just the strip that I hate. ;)

Susan-
I'm so, so, so glad you came! I seriously may have to name my child Susan if it's a girl...!

Amber-
EXACTLY! This is why you need to do something like this for your birthday next year. It will seriously be better than this year, eh? :)
