Exciting! Thrilling! Oh, who am I kidding...

Well, folks. I done had myself an exciting weekend. Exciting! Not necessarily thrilling, but exciting none-the-less. And since it is my job --my duty, really --to bring you the mundane, the excitement, and the crazy random details of my life, here is the run-down:
  • After the hilarity and shock over our new "garden", the kids and I headed to Hogle Zoo with my cousin and her SIL. Imagine 3 mothers, 1 uncle, and 12 children. Fun! And it truly was, to be honest. We had a great time.
  • Brandon and I had date night on Friday: Dinner and shopping at Old Navy! I got myself some jeans, and I was so happy that the size 12 I put on fit like a glove. Boo-yah!
  • Saturday was chore day, mixed in with loads of Scramble playing on Facebook. Man, that game is addicting...
  • Saturday night, I had the pleasure of meeting Mother of the Wild Boys in Draper for some IKEA shopping and dinner at Mimi's Cafe. It was wonderful! She's a fabulous person and we had a really good time. The four plus hours we spent talking just weren't enough! She is --to use her words (which are really Anne Shirley's) --a definite kindred spirit. And I have a feeling, dear reader, that you are, too (insert lots of hugs and teary eyes and smiles here).
  • Sunday was amazing. AMAZING. I should save it as a post for later, because the spiritual confirmations and experiences I had are ones I will never forget. But they can't be shared at this point (sorry!), so suffice it to say that Sunday was very, very good.
  • Last night, the Bishop came by to give Brandon and I another calling. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to say what it is yet, but if I can, I'll let you know tomorrow. However, because I know you are dying to know, as per my calling post, it is not a calling just for me. It's something short term, and when it's over (like the Youth Conference calling), then I will be back to being calling-less. ~sigh~

How was your weekend?

Sounds like you had a great one. Mine was busy. Had company here. We need another group Scrabble game.

Isn't that what life is all about, the little moments? Glad your Sunday was great! Mine was too, but a little sad, we were released from a very wonderful calling. If you would be interested in an invite to my blog send an email to davencher2000 at yahoo . com.

I hope you confessed to your Bishop about your special gardening so you could accept the new calling with a clear conscience!

It sounds like you had a great weekend! Hope this week is just as great!

bythelbs -- you're cracking me up!

Cheryl! I'm glad you're not totally callingless again. It's a good feeling.
My Sunday was also tremendous. I am planning to post about it, too. One of these moments...

Susan-
Agreed. We do need to start another group game. Maybe I'll do it...

Cardalls-
Yay! I'll email you right now! (and yes, your name ROCKETH. Best name I've EVER heard. And you spell it right!)

Bythelbs-
HA! Well, no, we didn't confess. Just add that to my long list of indiscretions. ;)

Julie-
Sounds like we all had a great Sunday yesterday, eh? Good!

I am a big fan of Anne with an 'e' and have had a couple wonderful kindred spirits over the years. Such a blessings to find!

Our weekend was busy and fun with a fantastic Dragon Boat Festival, biking, church and (don't go into shock) relaxing. ;-)

Your hubby took you shopping for date night?! My hubby would rather crawl in a teeny-tiny hole, I think. I am so impressed that you guys go out together so much. Good for you!

A trip to Hogle Zoo, a date and IKEA? I don't think a better weekend exsists! And I am dying to know about the calling.

And, I really wish that Mother of the Wild Boys wasn't private. Everytime you post about her I click over. Blast!

Glad your weekend was great!

Amanda D- Wow, thanks! Cheryl and I talked about that, and I am considering creating a separate anonymous-type blog with more of my writing and less pictures and details of our Wild life...I'll add it to the to-do list. :)
In the mean time, any amigo of Cheryl's is an amigo of mine...so feel free to email me at mother of the wild boys at yahoo and I'll add you to my readers list. But prepare yourself, I'm not as cool as you might think. ;)

Oh! No! Don't get the wrong idea. Brandon didn't ENJOY shopping on date night. He was just...supportive. Sort of. And it was for only 30 minutes or so. So he dealt. :)

Amber-
Relaxing?? That's in your vocabulary? ;)

Good luck with the calling. Mine starts up again in a month (scouts). I was enjoying my time off. I love your "weed" post. Too funny!

To set the story straight... I was ambushed. The plan was to go to dinner. That's it. After dinner, there was a plea to go to *one* store to buy some jeans. But as we walked to that store, somebody suddenly remembered she needed shoes for the wedding this weekend. So we went to the shoe store. Then we went in like three other stores because the shoe store didn't have the right style or size...

I like Ross the best because they sell furniture and I found a nice Lazy Boy to sit on and read the internet on my Blackberry.

So, just to set the story straight... we went, and I guess I was supportive. But I don't want to get my name dragged through the mud here. I have a reputation to live up to! ;)
