One poopy diaper.
Four Bagel Bites pizzas, face-down, on the floor.
Two naked "Help-me-mommy-I-went-potty!" episodes.
Two grounded-from-the-TV-and-computer daughters refusing to clean up anything.
One shoe missing.
Two quiche pies made for the teacher's luncheon.
Three tantrums.
One hungry baby.
One back-handed compliment by a preschool teacher.
One load of dishes not started this morning.
Two loads of laundry left-over in the machines from Saturday.
One Hundred Bazillion ants in...
...Two bathrooms.
All before 1PM.
And people always wonder why I'm in a bad mood. I guess I need some perspective. So:
Four healthy children.
One hard-working husband.
One strong house.
Twenty-Seven pounds lost.
One nice-working Internet connection.
Six growing testimonies.
Several Thousand beautiful songs.
Two amazing parents.
One quiet moment to blog.

Please tell us the back handed compliment. They can be sooo funny.
Well, it's complicated. Here's the set-up: #2 dresses herself each day, and I just make sure she isn't wearing anything too small, too big, or too mutilated. Well, it's been cold as late, but she wears a coat, so I figured allowing her a little skort-wearing (yes, I said "skOrt") wouldn't hurt. Well, one of the teachers nicely said to me, last week "#2 is always taking her coat off --could you maybe make sure she wears pants and a long shirt to school, etc.?" I was cool with that. Now I had some teachers backing me up on what I had been trying to tell her for weeks. Anyway, so, I usually don't wear a coat myself --short sleeves in 52 degree weather? Why not? This is California, baby! So, I will run in and sign #2 into preschool without my own coat. Well, this morning it was raining, so I threw a jacket on. As I walked #2 into the classroom, one of the teachers (who incidentally was not the aforementioned teacher) said "Wow! Look! You're all dressed today!" laughing. I said something about being used to snow and made my exit.
She probably didn't realize how rude or dumb she sounded (mostly dumb) until she said it, so I'm not worried about it. :)
I'm sorry you had a rough morning! I think that this way of looking at it is perfect though. Thanks for the reminder to be better.
Ah, the joys of being a Mom! PS, loved the photo updates and your girls hair is adorable! Way to go Mom!
You are a brave one. I have never attempted cutting hair. I'm too scared.
Love the pictures. Your kids are SOOOO cute.
I am so with you on the tantrums, pee on the floor, school parties, etc. Calgon, take me away!
I get similar comments about shoes and socks all the time. It is hard to motivate my kids to keep thier shoes on when I refuse to wear them myself.
As far as the jacket goes - next time tell them that you have to choose your battles! When my daughter doesn't want to wear her coat, I don't make her because I am not willing to argue over something so small. If she is cold, oh well. Of course, there are times that I bring the coat along in case she changes her mind (as 4-year-olds are apt to do!)
Your list made me want to sing "And a partridge in a pear tree!" :) Hope you had a better day today! (Sorry this is so late. I'm a little behind on the blogs...)
