Woke up nice and early, got the kids ready for Church.
We went to DH's old ward --saw a few friends. Funny part was two women coming right up to us as we were sitting there (after Sacrament Meeting) and asking if we were new in the ward. I think they were quite disappointed we were not. :) Instead of staying for the whole block, we left after Sacrament Meeting.
Came back to DH's mom's house --his sisters and their husbands came over and we had "Thanksgiving" dinner. :) It was SOOOOO good --and I felt like a heel because I was the only one that didn't make any of the food. But it was so delicious (oh --tam, I want your mashed potato recipe!!). Afterwards, we all opened Christmas presents, since this would be the only time we see each other before Christmas. Of course, the kids were delighted to be so spoiled, and it's always great to give gifts.
Then DH packed his bags and headed for the airport. He flew to Pittsburgh for another interview --more about that later...
The kids, Nana, Papa, and I went to my SIL and BIL's house where we played on their new Wii. Yes, I'm a fan. Yes, I'll probably get one for DH. Lucky DH!
By the time we made it back to the house, I was EXHAUSTED. It didn't help that my allergies (mostly my asthma) was so bad...DH's mom has a lot of pets and I just am not handling it well. I was grateful (still am!) that I had my inhaler. I haven't had to use it in almost 2 years, but I'm still glad I had it handy...We put the kids to bed, I dabbled on the internet, read a little, and crashed myself. So nice to sleep. Miss DH, though...

yesterday was so fun. It was totally Christmas for me and way fun with the kids. I can't wait for B to come over and try out the wii too!
The food was so good. I remember now why I'm always so disappointed of the food when I go anywhere else for Thanksgiving.
Mashed potatoes: (For a very generous 10 servings)
NOTE: I don't really measure, so these are rough approximations
15 potatoes
1 normal size tub of cream cheese (8 oz?)
3/4 C margarine
1 C milk (I used soy milk cuz thats I had)
salt
cut potatoes into smaller cubes. Boil for 20 minutes or so - until they feel cooked.
Drain potatoes. Mash potatoes with cream cheese, margarine, and milk. Add salt to taste (which means a lot). Add more milk or margarine if too dry.
