The Women I Admire

The Women I Admire

The women I admire
don't often
know they are
great.

Mostly, they are feeding
mouths and chickens
while baking
breads and sewing afghans
that cover their sleeping children
after a day of playing
outside.

These people do not
ask me to admire them
and they do not
have wealth
or
power
and rarely do they step away
from the things that
bring
everlasting joy.

Quietly, they are working
and
Smiling;
ignoring the world which tells them
happiness is only found
by pursuing the
Self.

The women I admire
trust God while
putting forth work
to thank Him for giving
the blessings
and joys
they seek each day.

They reach further through
service
and reach higher with
simplicity
that only comes from a heart
determined to focus
on essentials which mainly consist of
Family.

The women I admire
love deeply
as Christ loved;
with a compassion which never
forgets law
and
law which never forgets
compassion.

I admire them from
afar and watch as they go
about their lives simply
with Faith
Humility
Joy
Love.

Things to admire, to emulate.

To be.

This is so beautiful...as I read it I had to slow myself down from devouring the words! I couldn't wait to get to the end so I could see who wrote this...and it was you, my dear friend. Your writing continues to inspire and uplift me, and speak to my heart. I just love you. <3
