Jump Start January

How:
Three Day Green Smoothie Detox
Thirty Days of Thirty Day Shred

When:
Monday, January 3rd through Wednesday, January 5th
and
Monday, January 3rd through Saturday, February 5th. (I don't exercise on Sundays, man.)

What Time:
Umm, like all day
and
Every morning at 6:30AM (or later on Saturdays).

How in the World I'll Do It:
By blogging about it almost hourly
and
Having Hubby or #1 be my go-to people in case #5 wakes up early
and
Just. Doing. It.

Goal:
To do it. That is all. I'm not trying to get to a certain number of weight. In fact, I'm tempted NOT to weigh myself the entire month. My goal will be to weigh myself the morning of January 3rd and then again on February 5th. And then try not to care about the outcome.

Future Goal:
*Habitual exercising (like I used to) at least 5 days a week
*Eating raw foods 75% of the time
*Stop making excuses for not doing the exercise thing (the food thing I get. It ebbs and flows. I'll never get it perfect. But I'll keep trying withOUT beating myself up about it).

Books I want/need to read:
Mindless Eating by Brian Wansink
Delightfully Raw from Carmella's Sunny Raw Kitchen

SOOOOO.....

...am I setting myself up for failure for doing this in January? For starting a weight loss program when everyone else and their dog and it's fleas are starting a weight loss program? Am I going against the newest trend to NOT set New Year's Resolutions just because I never accomplish them and therefore I should just buck the system and HA! I stuck it to the man! ???

Nope. I'm gonna do it because I NEED TO DO IT. Failure, this month, is not an option for me. I may hit potholes, I may hit obstacles, I may hit enormous gluttonous-filled cream-of-a-carb. But I'm tired of talking about it without actually doing it. So, I'm going to do it. I'm going to try hard. I'm going to accomplish it. Why? Because I can do hard things.

P.S. If you'd like to do it with me, let me know here or through email. Trust me, dear reader, we've learned from all the failed (and successful!) weight loss attempts on this blog that doing it together really does make the motivation stronger. And you can do hard things, too.

I'm not in for the Detox, especially since the whole family just went through a bout of nature's 3-day cleanse, projectile style. But, I'm up for getting in the habit of having Jillian kick my butt daily.

I'm with ya! Setting my alarm for 6:15am...p90x for me and trying my darndest to eat raw! It's hard when I'm not the one buying all the groceries, but I'm going to try and not stress about it. :)

Okay, I'm in!

I need support and motivation...I'm still amongst the failed attempts.

I also need some guidance on the green smoothie detox...do you have some good resources or recipes you can share?

Email me at mim_76 at hotmail dot com

Thanks for taking the initiative and for inviting your readers to join you!

well, Jillian and I are getting up early tomorrow, right after scripture reading. We had ward conference today and something the pres. said seems applicable...if we don't include the Lord in our efforts to change and ask for help, we will fail every time (and wonder, "what is the problem here!?! I'm working my tail off!). We need the whole equation to get the right answer. Good luck to us all! Smoothies are great. It's how I get the kids to something healthy each day.
