In order to change we must be sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Alison, here is my picture! Anybody else wanna send me theirs? My email address is over
there...to the side...on the right...there! See it?
So...I'm kind of back to the 190's, eh? I don't like the 190's. They are too close to the 200's. 200's are not good for me --they're mean. They have never been kind. I want to get as far away from them as possible!
Now, according to Weight Watchers and the BMI index, for my age and height, I should be somewhere below 172.
HAHAHAHAHA! Like that could happen. Sure, I've been down to 168 (before I got pregnant with #5), but it was a fluke. If I'm being perfectly honest and realistic with myself, 174 or 175 is perfectly comfortable. And healthy. I like comfort and health.
Don't you?
So, that means I'm looking at a little less than 20 pounds. Now that I'm not nursing, I should be able to lose the last 10 easier this time. We shall see! I have to tell you, dear reader, that this time around I'm much more positive. Why? Well, for one, I don't weigh 220 (I used to, you know), so the end goal is a bit closer. The other reason is because I've done it before. I know I can do it! I've done it! The other is the fact that continually striving to be healthy is a good goal. A lifetime one. Not a "oh, no! I gained a pound! My life is over!" kind of goal. Does that make sense?
What I'm doing to get back in shape:
1. I'm walking for 45-60 minutes everyday, pushing a stroller. With a baby in it. Which makes sense, because why else would I be pushing a stroller? My goal is to also include pilates and the 30-day shred video again. I'm hoping to walk with my buddies M-F and then do the pilates/video MWF. Or TTH. We'll see. Baby steps, eh?
2. I'm going back to my whole food/organic eating. I'm pushing it harder this time. I'm learning, it's slow, it's difficult to convince the family at times, but I'm not giving up. I'm not trying to change everything at once, either. Slow and steady wins the race, man! And even though I read about this type of eating more than 8 months ago, I'm still absolutely 100% convinced that this is the way to go. Anyway, here's a few examples of what I've/we've eaten in the last few days:
Breakfast:
*Scrambled eggs on spinach with fresh dill
*Yogurt with fresh berries (raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries)
*Homemade bread with butter/preserves (blueberry preserves are the best!)
*Oatmeal whole wheat pancakes with 100% maple syrup
Lunch:
*Whole wheat pitas with tomato/basil hummus, spinach, avocado, sprouts, lettuce, tomatoes (from my garden!!), and pepper-jack cheese.
*Organic whole-wheat mac and cheese for the kids
Dinner:
*Balsamic-vinegar dressing chicken over jasmine rice with broccoli, ww bread, and apples on the side
*Whole wheat rigatoni pasta with peppers, zucchini, shrimp, lemon juice, fresh rosemary, and coconut oil
*Taco night! Fat-free refried beans; whole wheat tortillas; organic salsa, sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes; avocado, and cheese
(Any requests for recipes, where I buy stuff, etc. will be immediately attended to!)
My garden is helping produce all the tomatoes and zucchini and even some of the peppers, now! Oh, and all of the fresh herbs, including: rosemary, thyme, basil, oregano, parsley, Thai basil, and...that's it. I need to get some dill and some more cilantro. Note to self: Cilantro and lettuce (green and red leaf) go to seed really fast unless you use it A LOT.
Okay, dear reader, it's your turn! Tell me your weight, tell me what you're gonna do, and I'll expect another report next Tuesday.

i'm scared to weigh myself.
that's all.
Not sharing my numbers or anything, but I have gained a solid 10 lbs since our move (something to do with all the rain, and eating too many grilled cheese sandwiches and hot cocoa I think...) and needed to drop about 5 lbs before that. My goal is 15 lbs by December (1 lbs a week) I'm using NutriMirror to keep track of everything, and it's helping me see where I am eating the most calories, and how I can eat more of other things (cause I like to eat!) It's kind of like playing a game with the exercise and calories. Maybe you would like it? Anyway, baby steps, as you said. Good luck!
I am on the weight loss wagon. My life is absolutely crazy and out of control and although i think I am crazy attempting it right now it feels good to be in control of SOMETHING! I have lost 8 lbs in the last 6 weeks. I am in the mid 180's and want to lose 20 lbs!
ok. This morning 174 lbs, but that's because I am sick and dehydrated- I'm usually 176, but we'll start there. My goal by Thanksgiving...160. My goal by next June...150. How to accomplish? Riding my bike 8 miles every day with the girls in the trailer to pick up my kindergartener while the weather holds. When planning on driving, I will be running 2-3 miles in the morning. 30 day shred is going to be worked in there somewhere. I want to fit into my old cute clothes by the time I head to St. George for Thanksgiving. And our garden is great. Corn is awesome. Just wish I would have planted herbs. Good luck! It will come off!
I can't tell you my weight because the scale is upstairs.
I did lose four pounds this summer, but I may have gained them back since I weighed myself last. I'll have to get back to you on that.
I'm 152. Maintained my 20 lb loss all summer but didn't lose a stinkin' thing. I'd like to be at 146 by the beginning of October and then maintain from there. Still doing ww and still walking, spinning and got a new DVD. Jillian michaels - no more trouble zones. It's killer.
I'm in. I just posted about this last week, in fact. I don't own a scale (and since I'm gazelle, I'm not buying one), but I still have goals. In 3 months, my goal is to fit into a pair of cute white capri's that have not fit since last summer. I am running, 5 days a week, increasing each week until I get to 5 (or so) miles. I am at 2 miles a day right now.
Oh, and here's my cilantro tip. When you get it (from the store or pick it in your yard) trim all the woody stems and place the washed, dry leaves in a zippy bag in the freezer. When frozen, you can smash the bag with your hands and the cilantro will crumble like it's been finely chopped. You can add it to any dish that you would use it fresh. I love it in salsa and in sweet rice.
Good luck!
Not posting my weight. Mostly because I don't know it but also because I'm not. I will tlell you that I've gotten to the point in my exercising that I'm gaining weight not losing it. That's a little weird for me.
Oh and stop talking about avocado because Mmmmmm avocado. *wipes drool*
OK, your menu had me drooling. That stuff all sounds so good!
OK...I will be brave and tell you my weight... 144. Which is still 10 pounds heavier than I should be for my height. But it isn't bad.
But of course now that I am with child again, everything is going to be shot to hell.
Oh, well.
I want to eat at your house.
I'm all for realistic goals. It's not about the numbers, it's about how you feel. I'm willing to have slightly higher numbers if it means I actually get to enjoy life without the constant stress of worrying about the scale.
You go!
179.
Goal - under 160 by Christmas, under 150 by Valentine's Day.
Tools - 3 miles on every day off of work (whatever combo of walking/jogging/sprinting I feel like doing). More fresh fruits and veggies and water.
