AI: Top Seven. Again.

Lil: I am not a Lil fan at all. But I totally disagreed with the judges. I think that for the first time ever, Lil was HERSELF. It wasn't karaoke, it was fun, it was in tune, it wasn't yelled (until the last phrase), and she was happy. Her vocals were just fine --in fact, this was her best performance. Maybe I'm just too tired to hear the bad-ness? I don't know, but I was impressed! Isn't that crazy!?

Kris: He's the black horse to win this, you know. I haven't always loved his stuff --mostly when he's out of tune or playing something that is contrived. But tonight? Awesome! LOVED this arrangement with the guitar and the percussion. It was so cool! Way to go, Kris --I was VERY impressed.

Danny: It wasn't bad --I think it was too loud through-out, but I'm thinking that's the song. It was fun, he was in tune (Kara is right --he's pretty much always in tune!), and the ending was way cool (I like abrupt endings on fast songs instead of riffing it out for 8 measures...). Not bad, not bad --it didn't blow me away, but I still liked it!

Allison: The only thing I don't like about Allison is that her diction is not always perfectly clear. Other than that? I love this girl. And I really love the way she changed up her song to reflect her rock voice. The weirdest part? The baby started kicking right in time with Allison when she sang "hot, hot, hot". Creepy, dude. Anyway, great job, Allison!

Adam: So, Brandon just sent me this article talking about how Adam was in Wicked, how he was super wholesome when he came to LA, etc. Very interesting, eh?
About his performance, it was awesome. It didn't move me to tears like it did the judges (wow, they fawn over him), but it was still really awesome. I find it incredibly ironic that they are FINALLY telling a musical theater performer that they are a "star". Of course, he deserves it!

Matt: I think that his save might have given him back some of his confidence because for the first time in WEEKS, the boy actually sang the entire song in tune. The ending was CRAP, though. But we already know I hate 8 measures of riffing just for the sake of doing it. Blah. So...it was good. Okay and good. Not incredible, though.

Anoop: He has a really great voice! His last note was way off, though. Ouch! But hey, his middle note was really, really good. I'm so happy for him! It was really good and I liked that it wasn't super slow --that there was some up-tempo in it because I was worried he was going to go for just slow. And I had to agree with Paula --he looked great! And I totally disagreed with Simon. It wasn't AMAZING, but Anoop did great!

My Favorite:
Kris

Loved, loved, loved Kris. I'm betting on Kris and Adam as the top 2. Lil was boring, Danny (or as DH and I are calling him Hokey Gokey) was forgettable and cheesy once again, Adam was good and enthralling, Matt eh, I thought he was a little manic on the stage and I liked Anoop.

Lil and Danny or Matt should go home. I'm done with them.

Sorry, Anoop bored me to tears last night. Well, not to tears, but still boring. Kris owned the night for me.

Lil and Matt should go home this week. Anoop next week.

Oh my gosh, I didn't think I could love Kris more, and then, bam, he does that, and, yup, I love him even more. I want to go out and guy his cd right now. At this point I don't care if he wins, I just want him in a studio asap.

So, I have a theory on Danny. I remember back in auditions and Hollywood week, he was COOL. I'm right, right? But then he got super cheesy. So what changed? Remember his super cool friend who for some odd reason didn't make the top 36? I can't remember his name, but he was all hip, and I think he made Danny hip, too. But once his cool friend was out of the way, Danny's closet geek was free to come out! Anyway, the point of my rant is: bring back the cool friend!

I like Matt's performance, but that's because it was all Timberlake-y, and I love me some JT. I don't think it was enough to keep him here. [sarcasm]But thank goodness the judges used their one and only save, because heaven forbid what would have happened to the competition if he had been cut a whole WEEK early[/sarcasm].

Adam was awesome. Not as good as Kris, but still, dang dang awesome. I loved that, unlike the last time he did a soft ballad, he cleaned up his look BUT still kept some of that edge, and it was there in the singing, too. Perfect.

The rest were ok. I'm bored with Lil and Anoop. Allison wasn't as good as she normally is, but she didn't bomb or anything. It just was sort of 'meh'.

I am liking Kris too. He seems very down to earth and like someone who would last well in the business. Adam was good, but I thought he did better last week, or at least I liked the song last week.

I can still see what the judges see in Lil. I think they want her to go all Mary J, which she isn't, but she needs to find the sort of vibe that Mary J has. She still hasn't been herself. I liked Anoop, but the song was weird I thought. It was a dance song, so why the slow beat?

I like Danny, but I don't see him in the same place as other artists that are out there. He is a little too "adult contemporary."

I think it is Lil and Anoop tonight.

Paula TOTALLY ruined Adam's performance for me. That shot of her swooning/crying/something totally distracted me from what was probably an amazing performance.

Bummer.
