The Greatest Friends In The World

I've often thought that I had the greatest friends in the entire world. But now I know it's true. All of your comments, emails, messages, phone calls, posts, words of concern and comfort, prayers, thoughts --they have helped me so much. It's easy to forget that we are loved, the we are special, that we are stronger than we think we are. I truly believe Satan's best tool to get us to fail is by taking away our confidence --actually, wait. No, that's not his best tool. Satan's best tool to get us to fail is by helping us forget that we have that confidence and that we've been through this before and that we've always gotten through it. The Scriptures teach us to always remember --Christ often told His disciples to remember. Why is it so easy to forget? To forget that I'm strong? That I have loyal friends? That I have a beautiful family? That I am doing good in the meager efforts? Stupid Satan. He's so mean.
So, thank you for your friendship, dear reader. Thank you for understanding! Even though these "Cheryl Down Days" occur fairly often, you have never told me to get over it. Nor have you ever told me to stop writing about it. It's really hard to write the truth about oneself, you know? It leaves you out there, all vulnerable and scared, and sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't be so truthful. But you, dear reader, have told me more than once that you appreciate my candidness, and so I think it has fueled the desire to be honest about my struggles. If it can help me to discuss it, then perhaps it can help you? We're all in this together, eh? Comforting thought.
And now, for some business:
MBusse, a good friend of mine (for 9 years!) has written a post for me and all the mothers out there that are tired of drudgery. Go read it!
For those who are fans of the Twilight Saga (or not), Daring Young Mom actually spent the weekend in Forks, WA! Read about her adventure here.
My blogging buddy, Jeanette, has done the Mosaic Meme. I've seen them around, but never took the time before to do it. Well, she specifically tagged me yesterday, so I decided to spend some time this morning learning more about myself. Talk about therapeutic! If any of you haven't done this one, yet, take the time to do it. It's fun (and easier than I thought it would be)! The rules are at the bottom:

Here's how it works:
a. Type your answer to each of the questions below into Flickr Search.
b. Using only the first page, pick an image.
c. Copy and paste each of the URLs for the images into fd's mosaic maker. Choose 3 columns with 4 rows.
The Questions:
1. What is your first name?
2. What is your favorite food?
3. What high school did you go to?
4. What is your favorite color?
5. Who is your celebrity crush?
6. Favorite drink?
7. Dream vacation?
8. Favorite dessert?
9. What you want to be when you grow up?
10. What do you love most in life?
11. One Word to describe you.
12. Your flickr name. (kid version: favorite animal?)
I'm leaving for Idaho tonight. My brother's Open House is tomorrow, and so we're making a quick trip to Blackfoot. Before we leave, though, I have to throw a birthday party for #3. He's turning Four tomorrow, and it just blows my mind. FOUR! Anyway, I was hoping to get the Atlanta trip posted, but I guess it's just going to have to wait. I'll play major Catch-up next week, okay? Okay.
P.S. Love you, Dear Reader! You're the best.
P.P.S. I'll give you extra brownie points if you can find the movie reference in this post and if you can name the actor I have a crush on. :)

I am not sure if you heard, but Mr. Dahle passed away. his viewing is tonight - so if you are going to be in blackfoot and are interested...there you go :)

It's Henry Tilney! Or JJ Field-whichever. :-)
Thanks for playing along! I think it is fun to see what images people come up with. And I also think it is interesting that several I've seen have some of the same images I picked. Interesting.
Have a good time with your family in Idaho!

I have to agree, you have some awesome friends...I've gotten to know some of your blogging buddies and they Rocketh. You're just a magnet for awesomeness. :)

And, oh my, I don't think I'll ever think of motherhood the same after reading that article. How heartbreaking and touching. Tell MBusse thanks for me.

BTW, I had seen that DYM post this morning, it's one of my fave ones she's ever done. I heart DYM!

And those mosaics are fun. As you know Cheryl, I got carried away and forced my DH and the Wild Boys to each make one too. :D

Miss you this weekend, have fun!

So I don't know your celeb crush, but please say the movie reference isn't the Finding Neverland title of photo 9. Pfffft, too easy. Um, if it's not that I'm going to feel a little silly. Have a great Blackfoot trip, wave to my parents on your way past.

Madhousewife stole my "word", so I'm going with "true that". Or is it "tru dat"?

The mosaic is beautiful. When I tried it, my collection wasn't nearly as lovely. What does that say about me? Hmmm...

Becky-
Nope. It's in the main part of my post that I reference a movie. Without making that reference known. And the guy? JJ Feilds --he's Mr. Tilney in the recent PBS adaption of Jane Austen's "Northanger Abbey". I HEART Mr. Tilney! :)

Christy-
Thank you for telling me about Mr. Dahle. Sad news, that...

Have fun in i-DEE-ho!

I was gonna say "Word" - someone beat me. Then "true dat" = taken.

So I will just say "amen" on your awesomeness at attracting awesomeness. I've stalked your friends blogs.
Awesomeness!

Cheryl- I knew we were meant to be blogging friends. We have the same dessert picture on our mosaics! Girls who eat chocolate mousse together are meant to stay together!
