Health, Harmony, Humiliation, and Highlights

Total Weight Loss:
Brandon gained .2 pounds, but it's all good. As long as he can stay within 2 pounds of goal weight for 6 weeks, he'll be a lifetime WW member! Whoo-hoo! So, just know that he has lost 46 pounds (give or take) and we'll keep it at that.
Cheryl? Well, I lost 1.6 pounds! Can you believe it? That means I have lost a total of 35.6 pounds. I only have 1.6 pounds to lose until I reach goal weight! Hooray!!

"Harmonist" just sounds better:

I have this awesome friend. Let's call her Janelle. Anyway, she's awesome. And wise. And when I think about her wisdom, I get happy. Because she is also happy. Anyway, so Janelle is awesome and wise and happy and had this amazing thought that she posted about yesterday, and you can read it here. I decided I like this idea of a Harmonist. It sounds so much better than a Feminist, don't you think? I may have to change my stance and start calling myself a Harmonist. Not just because the idea was so happy and wise (as per Janelle's personality), but because I'm a follower like that. I also have no shame in admitting when I see a better idea than my own. And since I didn't actually have an idea, then it's not really changing it, eh? Still following me? Good.

Embarrassing story:

So, I have this other friend. I can't talk too much about her because she likes to remain anonymous within the world of blogging. Anyway, she rocks. We met whilst blogging and started emailing each other. After emailing each other five bazillion emails, we decided to take our "relationship" to the next level. [If you are thinking this sounds very "online dating-ish", then you would be right. We thought it was kinda creepy, too. But it's not. We're just a couple of SAHM's trying to find validity in this cold, cruel world. Or something like that.] So, we exchanged phone numbers (yeah, I get it! It sounds weird!) and I called her. We then talked for 3 hours and 42 minutes. Oh, yes! And to be honest, we probably could have talked longer. Isn't this nice? To have a friend with whom one can speak to for long periods of time? Anywhosers, I hadn't thought about the repercussions of the phone call, though. Not until after it ended.

What repercussions, you ask? Why, let me tell you! Brandon and I share minutes on our cell phones. Our land line, which is VOIP (to our UT land line that is unlimited long distance, etc.) wasn't working. So I used my cell phone. Without making this friend one of my Fave 5 first. Oh, yes, dear reader, are you understanding now? Basically, I used 1/5 of our shared minutes in one phone conversation. Needless to say, this did not make hubby very happy. And I don't blame him one bit! It was a very thoughtless and irresponsible thing to do. Especially considering some budget restraints this month (hey, we are moving)!

So, I've been good about not using my cell phone this week. Well, except to call this new friend again yesterday. No worries; we only talked for an hour and a half. Oh, and I added her to my Fave 5 first (had you goin' there for a second, didn't I?). I was responsible this time!

Have you ever done something so obviously irresponsible that affected your hubby and/or your budget? Please tell me I'm not the only one...

Highlights of the week:
  • MIL coming and taking the kiddies for most of Tues and Wed. Also, helping me pack in the evenings and mornings. Awesome woman. Glad she came!
  • Going to #1's Open House at her school. Her teacher is quite upset that we're moving; #1 is truly a model student and it's obvious to me how well she is doing when every student and every teacher she encounters compliment her every move. Not sure how she came from me...
  • Taking the whole clan (MIL, all four kiddies, and me) to #1's baseball game. She didn't get a hit, but we won the game! This was their third game, and first time they won. Go Pirates!

  • Packing, packing, packing until my legs hurt. However, I still have much left. I can't pack clothes, dishes, cleaning supplies, office stuff, etc. when we have 2 weeks still here, now, can I? Nope.

  • Brandon coming home...today! Wa-hoo! Love that Brandon. People always ask us why we move so darn quickly when we choose to move (okay, it's only happened twice). My answer is usually the same: I can't stand to be away from Brandon all week long! Sure, his new job will mean more travel, but that's a couple of times a month. Not everyday.

How was your week?

P.S. Coming up on Happy Meets Crazy!

Saturday: Our Savior's Atonement; Sunday: Easter and Spotlight Sunday; Monday: Catch-up photos, etc.

Congrats to you and hubby on the weight loss. That is awesome. You are going to need to post some before and after photos soon.

Love the idea of a Harmonist. I might have to adopt that theory!

Hooray for husbands being home! Way to go on getting so much packing done. Don't feel bad about the phone bill....stuff like that happens! And you've learned a lesson from it!

We have no fav5, and no long distance on our land line, so I have gone over a few times on my cell minutes. My sweet husband is very patient and has never even cut me off.

Loving the term Harmonist...I have discussed this concept a million times with my husband, but never had a good term for my feelings...

Congrats on the weight loss...I'm feeling inspired!

Glad the packing is going well...even though it is way too tiring...you are doing awesome though!!

I sometimes look at my kids and wonder how they came from me too! I can't wait to see how this develops as they get older!

So glad Brandon is coming home...enjoy the weekend!!!

I love the word harmonist. I wrote about this a time or two a while back but could never really come up with a term to describe it. I think harmonist describes it perfectly.

Good luck packing! Sorry about the cell phone minutes...that's something that almost happened to us last month. We never get to our minute limit, but last month I used my cell phone so much. Luckily we have roll-over so we just dipped into those.

I've never even had the feminist, etc. debate enter my head...I guess I'm not really intellectual enough. That being said, though, I think the term harmonist is quite brilliant. I have always just thought of myself as a daughter of God, but I think in layman's terms, harmonist is right on.

Good luck over the next couple of weeks. I think moving on a short deadline is easier than knowing about it for months in advance.

Wayne worked out with Brandon the other day here in Utah, and he said that your hubby is looking fanTASTic! I'm sure you look just as wonderful, though a bit cuter and less hairy. Wayne was very impressed. He's now making small noises about borrowing his mom's WW books and trying the points system...

Amanda-
Thank you! I'll be posting before and after shots after the move. For sure. I hope. Remind me, okay?

Jill-
I'm glad you never get cut off. :)

LAHansen-
Thank you! Yes, the kids seem to come from somebody else sometimes, don't they? Totally meshes with premortal existence, that's for sure... Ooh! And I love inspiring people to lose weight. So, I hope my journey helps!

Bythelbs-
Hurray, indeed! He's here and it's wonderful having him back...

Jamie-
Roll-over has got to be so nice! Hmmm...thinking about that one...

Julie-
I agree. Procrastination, though, also plays a big part in the short deadline. :)

Lizzie-
Ha! Too funny. I'm glad Wayne is inspired by Brandon. And I'm glad you don't think I'm hairy! :)

Mother of the WB-
I saw a comment you left on her blog and I was like "Wha?! My sister knows MoTWB??" and so I had to talk to her to find out how. I've seen your comments all over; thanks for the compliments. I can say the same thing about you, you know. :)

EVERYONE-
Just another shout-out to Janelle for her awesome word! I'm glad everyone likes the idea of "Harmonist". I agree so very, very much. I don't think Janelle will mind one bit if we take her word and use it. Maybe one day that will be the new "thing"! How cool would that be?! Thank you, Janelle!
