Breaking My Habit

Talking about our problems is our greatest addiction. Break the habit. Talk about your joys. ~Rita Schiano

So, here are my recent joys:

Green

This poem by Robert Frost

On a Tree Fallen Across The Road
(To hear us talk)

The tree the tempest with a crash of wood
Throws down in front of us is not to bar
Our passage to our journey's end for good,
But just to ask us who we think we are

Insisting always on our own way so.
She likes to halt us in our runner tracks,
And make us get down in a foot of snow
Debating what to do without an ax.

And yet she knows obstruction is in vain:
We will not be put off the final goal
We have it hidden in us to attain,
Not though we have to seize earth by the pole

And, tired of aimless circling in one place,
Steer straight off after something into space.

What are your joys right now?

3 comments:

  1. The way nights cool off, and the smell of dew on the grass. Being able to sleep under an open window. (But, who am I kidding? I sleep under an open window until we hit actual zero-degree weather overnight!) Hearing my kids giggle far too late in the night, as they've moved into the tents for the last month, and plan to live out there for another month. There are loads others, but they're weird, and I'm shy. :)

I love, love, love your comments! But please remember a few things:
1. Please be respectful.
2. If you know the names of our children or our last name, please do not use them.
Thanks!
