Technically, it's already snowed this year, but nothin' like this!
There was much rejoicing in my home this morning when we saw the snow. That is, until we realized the kids have no snow boots (looks like we'll be going shopping this afternoon!), and Brandon had to shovel the driveway and sidewalks (which are covered again already; looks like I'll be shoveling here, soon!). Ah, well. Luckily, we already have a carpool, so #1 and #2 didn't have to walk to school in the snow (and I didn't have to drive!).
To be perfectly honest, I know I'd rather be in California right now with cold rain, but the snow is gorgeous. And it's Christmastime! Snow and Christmas go together, so I probably won't complain about the snow until January. Unfortunately, the snow around here usually lasts until April, so prepare yourselves for a lot of whining come spring...
Here is our backyard as of 9:05AM this morning:
Here is a view from our front porch:
These are from the bushes in our front yard (the ones in the previous picture):
Oh, and for those of my friends in Oregon who were recently given snow days because of one measly little inch of snow? Yeah, you're a bunch of wimps! It's nothing personal --just sayin'. :)
We are a bunch of wimps. I'll be first to admit it! We laughed when church got cancelled because of a dusting of snow on the road. It was nice to have school cancelled yesterday though.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your snow! I wish I was there!
WE had snow yesterday in Las Vegas...not where we lived but we drove about 1/2 hour for FHE last night to play in the 2 inches of snow...my kids were in heaven! I must say I miss snow until I have to drive or take my kids out in it or go to the store in it etc...I am officially a warm weather wimp even though I grew up in it!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Cheryl...my blogging bff. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe are wimps! We are totally wimps!
ReplyDeleteI like your snow pics. They are beautiful.
Perdy, perdy, now pics.
ReplyDeleteWe laughed the first time church was cancelled for "snow" after we moved to WA--coming from UT where you had to dig your car out of the parking lot to go to school or church, which was NEVER cancelled.
You want snow wimps, come to Virginia. They cancel EVERYTHING with even a FORECAST of snow. Having grown up in frozen wasteland Rexburg, I find it especially ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI actually like the snow, but without the ridiculously cold weather we have right now in Alberta.
ReplyDeleteThis week the temperatures range in the -20s and -30s Celsius (between -4F and -22F). That's not even taking into account the windchill, which may bring things down to the -30s or -40s Celsius (that's -40F). It's definitely cold but the kids are still going to school. :)
Those last three pics are my faves.
ReplyDeleteWe are lovin' the snow. I reach a point where I feel that if it's going to be cold, it might as well be white.
Amy-
ReplyDeleteAh, yes. I need to remember that although I have snow and cold, it is nothing like the frozen lands of Alberta!
Beautiful!
