I didn't read the whole book, but I enjoyed what I did read of Nurture Shock.Beccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01667724269493668949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20526785.post-10897616021608756802011-10-15T08:07:36.594-06:002011-10-15T08:07:36.594-06:00Ooh, I like your quotes. In my parenting class, I'm learning that lectures don't really work, but kids overhearing those same messages will pick it up. So, if you can somehow talk to Brandon or a friend about something honest you did or said.... Last year the teacher sent home a note with what homework he had for the week because he would only do about half. Honesty is a huge deal to me and they lose major privileges and get extra jobs if they lie.chercardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13314841357351024070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20526785.post-6603923861018808152011-10-14T15:45:07.424-06:002011-10-14T15:45:07.424-06:00Mine are told when they tell the truth they don...Mine are told when they tell the truth they don't get into trouble. It works for the most part and they tend to do better when they learn that. Also I was told that if you know what they have done and ask if they did it they will just lie but if you ask why then they can't lie about it. They'll grow out of it. If you want to learn more check out the book Nurture Shock-they devote a whole chapter to childhood lying, very interesting stuff.Curlshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06176883112936068271noreply@blogger.com
